This 4-week online class is designed to be an introduction to professionalism for the rehab professional. This course is part of Evidence In Motion Institute of Health Professions Post-professional Doctorate in Physical Therapy program.

By the end of the course, a successful learner will be able to:

  • The learner will reflect on their participation in their professional association and create a goal for future participation. 
  • Learners will identify a current legislative issue related to their field and create a letter to a legislator stating their position with at least 2 supporting facts. 
  • The learner will complete the Professionalism in Physical Therapy: Core Values Self-Assessment and create a goal for engaging in the core values in which they have an opportunity for growth. 
  • The learner will discuss the behaviors of a professional and how they may affect patient outcomes. 
  • Learners will reflect on their therapeutic alliance framed around their current cultural awareness using the APTA’s HOD position in a paragraph about their current practices and thoughts for the future. 
  • Learners will reflect about all aspects of professionalism and refer to the goal set in module 1 to assess whether the goal is still applicable, progress towards this goal, and create an action plan for completion of this goal in a timely manner.
