This course is an introduction into understanding and implementing evidence-based practice into healthcare. This course is designed for busy clinicians. No prior understanding of research or statistics is required to be successful in this course. This course defines evidence-based practice, explores terminology used in research and statistics, and then moves further into decision-making for application of research to the clinic. 

By the end of the course, a successful learner will be able to:

  • Define evidence-based practice in healthcare. 
  • Identify why evidence-based healthcare is essential.  
  • Define terminology from research and health statistics. 
  • Examine the process of critical appraisal.  
  • Differentiate between evidence-based practice and evidence-informed practice.
