This course features facets of clinical care necessary to assist the treating clinician and promote optimal patient outcomesThis includes patient positioning and postural re-education as well as anatomy, common diagnoses and exercise instruction in different body regions and varied areas of physical therapy specialty practice. 

By the end of the course, a successful learner will be able to:

  • Discuss three principles of enhanced patient interactions
  • Identify postural dysfunction
  • Select strategies in instruction of postural corrections
  • Identify anatomy in seven different body regions
  • Describe common diagnoses in seven different body regions
  • Select appropriate strategies for exercise instruction in seven different body regions
  • Select appropriate strategies in proprioceptive and balance re-education
  • Identify proper patient positioning for given case scenario
  • Identify safe strategies for patient guarding
  • Describe therapeutic effects of six common physical therapy modalities
  • Identify indications and contraindications of six common physical therapy modalities
  • Describe patient set-up for six common physical therapy modalities
  • Describe clinical considerations in at least three specialty areas of physical therapy
