For: Physical Therapy Technician
This course features facets of clinical care necessary to assist the treating clinician and promote optimal patient outcomes. This includes patient positioning and postural re-education as well as anatomy, common diagnoses and exercise instruction in different body regions and varied areas of physical therapy specialty practice.
By the end of the course, a successful learner will be able to:
- Discuss three principles of enhanced patient interactions
- Identify postural dysfunction
- Select strategies in instruction of postural corrections
- Identify anatomy in seven different body regions
- Describe common diagnoses in seven different body regions
- Select appropriate strategies for exercise instruction in seven different body regions
- Select appropriate strategies in proprioceptive and balance re-education
- Identify proper patient positioning for given case scenario
- Identify safe strategies for patient guarding
- Describe therapeutic effects of six common physical therapy modalities
- Identify indications and contraindications of six common physical therapy modalities
- Describe patient set-up for six common physical therapy modalities
- Describe clinical considerations in at least three specialty areas of physical therapy
