This course is designed to improve the participant’s understanding and use of evidence-based practice and its impact on physical therapy. Participants will learn clinic and procedural aspects of a technicians role. They will learn to obtain vitals, how to capitalize on clinic flow and patient management, proper use of PPE, appropriate communication with staff and patients, and area prep. The goal of this course is to develop consumers and users of clinical research that will improve the quality and impact of the participant’s clinical practice on the patients they serve. 

By the end of the course, a successful learner will be able to:

  • Perform blood pressure, oxygen, heart rate, and temperature measurements
  • Recall COVID safety precautions
  • Recall proper use of PPE
  • Recall elements of a patient chart
  • Prioritize clinic flow appropriately, safely, and within practice act guidelines
  • Safely set up modalities when directed
