For: All eligible candidates for the Fellowship in Pain Science

The EIM Pain Fellowship requires Fellows in Training (P-FiTs) to develop and complete a scholarly project with the intent to publish and/or showcase. Support is provided by the PSF Program Director, EIM Scholarly Project Team (EIM Pain Science Faculty), and the Therapeutic Neuroscience Research Group, a non-profit group of instructors, clinicians and researchers dedicated to improving the body of evidence surrounding pain neuroscience education and related topics. Given the wide diversity of each learner’s experience, work environment, specialty, profession, resources available, etc. the scholarly project offers 5 options, of which P-FiTs select one, which are described under Learner Expectations below.

By the end of the course, a successful learner will be able to:

  • Contribute to the larger body of evidence pertaining to pain science.
  • Gather experience in the process of completing research, submitting for publication and/or undergoing a peer review process.
  • Foster community and societal change through promoting safe, effective options for addressing pain.
  • Promote institutional improvement in the assessment, clinical decision-making, and treatment of patients struggling with complex pain issues.
  • Develop professionalism and leadership skills required for effective collaboration on pain, with potential society-wide impact.
  • Why EIM

We’re reimagining health care education that takes you to the next next level. With learning that takes place where you are, evidence-based practice, and better outcomes for your patients, our education is transformative. That’s why EIM.
