At the end of this course, the successful learner will be able to understand and demonstrate hands-on techniques for assessment and treatment of the upper quarter including manual techniques and orthotic fabrication and be able to apply this information immediately into practice.

Course Objectives/Outcomes

  • By the end of this course, a successful learner will be able to:
  • Locate and discuss upper quarter anatomy and pathology.
  • Perform appropriate manual assessment and special testing to evaluate the upper quarter.
  • Demonstrate manual treatment techniques for a variety of upper quarter diagnoses.
  • Implement reasoning, clinical judgement, and effective problem-solving when caring for a client with and upper quarter diagnosis.
  • Perform orthotic fabrication as it relates to a variety of upper quarter diagnoses.
