He spent 14 years (1986 – 2000) working for Kaiser Permanente throughout various Sacramento and Bay area facilities.

In 2001 he moved from Santa Cruz to Grass Valley to raise his two kids in a small town ripe with adventure opportunities. He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from EIM in 2012. In 2012 John also completed his comprehensive Polestar Pilates training program.

His most recent deep dive into clinical care excellence came in 2024 when John became a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (member, MINT). This was after spending eight years of studying motivational interviewing (MI). In 2001 John founded Body Logic Physical Therapy (BLPT) in Grass Valley, California. He ran the practice and has taught extensively for EIM since 2012 and Kaiser since 1996. In 2023 John sold BLPT to a colleague and now works part time at the practice.

John has now found his niche in working part-time, teaching OMPT and primarily teaching Motivational Interviewing (MI) courses at the state, national, and international arenas.
