EIM’s PTA Orthopaedic Skills Weekend Intensive/Virtual Lab Course is an interactive course designed to enhance the participant’s knowledge and skill level in the evidence-based management of individuals with common upper and lower quarter disorders and dysfunction. Participants will gain pragmatic knowledge in the areas of safety, professionalism, clinical decision-making, pain neuroscience education and data collection. In addition, attendees will learn and practice evidence-based manual techniques and exercise interventions in order to improve patient outcomes. For the best learning scenario for attendees, 8 to 10 hours of online learning precede the weekend course. Precourse work is not required for students in the PTA Specialty Certification in Orthopaedics program who already completed required foundational components.

Virtual Labs Experiences combine online, self-paced coursework with weekly live, synchronous sessions and practice video submissions.

  • 3-4 weeks of online coursework – self-paced
  • Live, synchronous sessions weekly on Monday evenings
  • Submit practice videos to receive feedback from instructors and peers

  • I took home more information from PTA Orthopaedic Skills than any other course in 19 years. I was able to apply what I learned the day I was back to work. It gets you out of a rut that we get stuck in. Course Graduate

  • This course is much more than just learning manual techniques. It provided me with additional evidence based practice for various parts of the body, in addition to reviewing the importance of health monitoring. Course Graduate
