Skip To ContentThe Foundational Geriatric Certification Program provides rehabilitation professionals with the basic skills required to manage the complex and unique needs of the older adult population. Topics covered in this level include online didactic coursework related to interprofessional management of older adults in health care, exercise prescription, and health promotion/wellness dedicated to providing the most current information regarding balance and falls management as well as orthopedic considerations for the older adult. Ideal for the clinician that sees a consistent older adult population, but isn’t sure if the geriatric specialty route is for them, this program will help you feel more confident in your clinical interactions with older adults. This certification is the only one of its kind as you will learn from an interdisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, and other qualified professionals with clinical and research backgrounds in managing older adult needs.
