Bio

Whitney Reese attended The University of the Incarnate Word and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2003. She was a 4x NCAA scholar athlete and played on the Region IV ODP soccer team. She graduated from Regis University with a Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2006. She has worked primarily in the outpatient setting, completing a board specialty in Orthopaedics in 2010 and a board specialty in Sports in 2014. Between 2008 and 2014 she competed at a high level in CrossFit as a 6x Regionals Athlete and placed 21st in the World in 2010 at the CrossFit Games. A sports performance focus resulted in completing a Master of Science in Kinesiology with a specialization in corrective exercise and Orthopedic rehabilitation and sports conditioning from AT Still in 2018. She joined the University of St. Augustine as contributing faculty in 2018 and transitioned to Affiliated Faculty in 2023. She teaches Integrated Foundational Sciences which combined biomechanics, anatomy, physiology and neuroscience, Physical Therapy Management of Musculoskeletal Disorders II, Integracted Clinical Lab 1, Msk I, and Msk II. She recently completed the Bellin College OMPT Fellowship and is currently enrolled in the PhD in Leadership program at Concordia University-Chicago, specializing in advanced human performance and exercise science. She will be completing an NSCA Performance and Sport Scientist certification in 2025. She enjoys hiking, paddleboarding, gardening, and playing with all of her dogs, and she still trains for Olympic Lifting competitions.
