Bio

I earned dual bachelors degrees from The University of Texas at Tyler in kinesiology and biochemistry in 2014 and 2016, respectively. While completing my undergraduate degrees, I was involved in official tutoring through the PASS tutoring center on campus and with the Supplemental Instruction department, where I tutored courses in the STEM disciplines not limited to chemistry, physics, and anatomy/physiology. After undergraduate work, I pursued a Masters degree in Kinesiology (completed in 2018). While working on my Masters degree, and for a little bit of time afterward, I was an instructor at Tyler Junior college where I instructed laboratories in anatomy/physiology, introductory and general chemistry, and microbiology.

I absolutely love teaching, but I wanted to pursue a different discipline, and after shadowing several physical therapists, I decided that this is what I want to do. I graduated from Baylor University in 2022, having done clinical rotations mostly in orthopedic outpatient settings and also in neurological and vestibular physical therapy. While at Baylor University, I served as class president for both years and earned the star award for my 2-years as class president and also serving the other students in our cohort by tutoring the various classes that we were in.

After graduating and passing the board exam, I began work at one of the clinics where I did a clinical rotation, ProActive Physical Therapy Specialists in Gresham, OR. ProActive is predominantly an outpatient orthopedic clinic, but I also specialize in treating vestibular conditions and temporomandibular dysfunction. I have worked there for 2.5 years, and I have been a clinical instructor for 4 students. While working as a physical therapist, I have almost completed the EIM manual therapy certification program with only one class remaining to take.

During my undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate careers, I have also owned an operated my own business, which is predominantly on YouTube, called Catalyst University. Catalyst University is an online education resource where I have accumulated hundreds of educational videos, lectures, and tutorials spanning a wide array of topics including, but not limited to biochemistry, physics, anatomy/physiology, and of course, physical therapy. Thus far, I have amassed over 350K subscribers.

One of the things that I love about the field of physical therapy is that I get to interact with a wide variety of people, which I feel has made me a stronger person socially and also intellectually. Additionally, I never had to give up my love of teaching, as I get to teach patients and students every single day at work. And I use the term “work” very loosely, because I absolutely love my career path and it doesn’t feel like work. I look forward to working with EIM in the future as able.
