Dry Needling
Barbara received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1983 from the University of North Dakota and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2014 from Evidence in Motion Institute of Health Professions. She began her career as an active duty physical therapist with the US Air Force. After leaving the Air Force in 1990, she practiced in private outpatient clinics in Montana and Washington state before moving to Texas in 1992.
Barb and her husband, Tom, own Hope Rehab Katy, a private physical therapy practice. Barb opened the practice in 2003 and they added a second location in 2017. The practice is located in Katy TX, a suburb of Houston. Barb enjoys mentoring staff and working with complicated orthopedic cases. She has extensive manual therapy training through a variety of sources including Ola Grimsby, Institute of Physical Arts, Tom Boers, Rocabado, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, International Spine and Pain Institute and Evidence in Motion. She also enjoys working with vestibular rehab, pelvic floor rehab, pediatric patients and has certifications in Selective Functional Movement Assessment and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization. She was initially trained in dry needling through Kinetacore in 2012 and has completed Level I, II, Pelvic Floor, Functional Therapeutics and Advanced Functional Dry Needling. She joined the Kinetacore staff as a Teaching Assistant in 2018 and currently is a TA for the EIM Level 1 Functional Dry Needling courses.
Barb enjoys outdoor activities including downhill skiing, cycling, hiking and fishing. She also enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her husband, their three grown children.
