Dry Needling

Bio

Dr. Waterway graduated from Grand Valley State University with a bachelor’s in kinesiology, and went on to earn his doctorate in physical therapy from Missouri State University.

In addition to his doctorate of physical therapy education training, he has had over six years of Functional Dry Needling training and mentorship, as well as attendance and exposure to numerous therapy modalities and philosophies. During his graduate work, he served as a gross anatomy teaching assistant, which sparked his passion for teaching. Dr. Waterway has seen empathy, manual therapy, Functional Dry Needling, Blood Flow Restriction therapy, FMS & SFMA assessment philosophies, and client-specific movement correctives change countless lives. He currently treats in Hudsonville and looks forward to new continuing education opportunities to add more modality expertise to his ever-growing treatment retinue. He serves as Assistant Instructor for Evidence In Motion’s Functional Dry Needling series.

Dr. Waterway evaluates and treats from a movement-based approach. He has had experience treating everything from common and complex orthopaedic injuries to difficult chronic conditions, with a goal of developing treatment solutions and treating the “why” versus the “what.” He treats his clients with the mindset that pain-free movement is possible.

Tyler was born and raised in Holland, Michigan. He and his wife, Ellen, recently bought their first home in Hudsonville. They enjoy time outside, playing volleyball, running, hiking, adventuring, and are involved in student ministry at their church.
