Pelvic Health
Dr. Melissa McElroy is an award-winning physical therapist in the realm of pelvic healthcare, and has been an advocate for pelvic health over the last 14 years. After graduating from Bellarmine University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2007 she had the opportunity to work in various clinical settings across the country including pediatrics and wound care but returned to Louisville, Kentucky in 2010 to focus her career on her specialization in Pelvic Health. In 2015 Dr. McElroy became a Board-Certified Women’s Health Specialist (WCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists (ABPTS). Currently, she is a partner and director of pelvic health over multiple outpatient clinics in Louisville, Kentucky. Additionally, she serves as a content specialist and instructor for Evidence in Motion’s (EIM) Pelvic Health Certification Program. Dr. McElroy has had the privilege of educating at all levels from local to international platforms. In 2023 she was honored as Health Equity Champion by Louisville Business First for her work with all genders in the field of pelvic health. She has been quoted in publications such as World Health News and Report, Well + Good, Woman’s World, and The Zoe Report. She is a member of the Kentucky Physical Therapy Association, the American Physical Therapy Association, APTA’s Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy, The International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health, The International Society for Sexual Medicine, The International Pelvic Pain Society, and The World Association for Transgender Health.
