Dry Needling
Barbara received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1983 from the University of North Dakota and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2014 from Evidence in Motion Institute of Health Professions. She began her career as an active-duty physical therapist with the US Air Force. After leaving the Air Force in 1990, she practiced in private outpatient clinics in Montana and Washington state before moving to Texas in 1992.
Barb and her husband owned a thriving physical therapy private practice in Katy, Texas, for more than 18 years from 2003 – 2021. They sold the practice to ATI Physical Therapy in 2018 and Barb has continued to work for ATI, currently in the role as pelvic health specialist. She has extensive manual therapy training through a variety of sources including Ola Grimsby, Institute of Physical Arts, Tom Boers, Rocabado, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, International Spine and Pain Institute and Evidence in Motion. She also enjoys working with vestibular rehab and pediatric patients and has certifications in Selective Functional Movement Assessment and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization. She received her dry needling training and certification through Kinetacore and joined the Kinetacore staff as a Teaching Assistant in 2018. She currently is a TA for the EIM Level 1 and Level II Functional Dry Needling courses. Barb enjoys outdoor activities including downhill skiing, cycling, hiking and fishing. She also enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her husband and their three grown children.
