Learn best practices for rehabilitation of individuals who have recovered from COVID-19. This self-paced course provides a comprehensive overview of outpatient rehabilitation practices for individuals who are experiencing continued symptoms following COVID-19 infection. Learners will receive information on best practices in pulmonary rehabilitation, manual therapy, return to sport, cognitive screening, dietary coaching, behavioral health screening, and more to provide whole person centered care. The course includes readings, lectures, and technique videos for a comprehensive learning process.

Objectives

  • Describe relevant physiology related to Covid-19 disease & recovery process.
  • Apply evidence based exercise, manual therapy, and lifestyle coaching principles to optimize patient recovery from Covid-19.
  • Integrate best practices for pacing and graded exposure to improve activity tolerance following Covid-19.
  • Articulate at least 2 pain neuroscience education stories (alarm and lion stories) to help explain the pain and fatigue experienced by individuals following recovery from Covid-19.
  • Incorporate best practices for evaluation, screening, and treatment prescription for outpatient rehabilitation of patients with long term symptoms following Covid-19
