Course Description

This self-directed 4-week course overviews normal anatomy & physiology of the gastrointestinal, urinary, and male and female reproductive systems. It will provide a brief overview of common pathologies that may impact each system and which may impact the structure and function of the pelvic floor. The course also includes information about common medications used for these conditions and their potential impact on the pelvic floor.

Objectives

By the end of the course, a successful participant will be able to: 

  • Examine the normal physiology of the gastrointestinal, urinary, and reproductive systems  
  • Discriminate common pathologies that impact the gastrointestinal, urinary, and reproductive systems as well as potential impact on the pelvic floor 
  • Articulate the fundamentals of the gastrointestinal, urinary, and reproductive systems to other medical practitioners to enhance patient care and outcomes.
