Bio

Dr. Malia Tallett, PT, DPT, TPS, is the Native Hawaiian owner and founder of Ke Ola Kino Physical Therapy, LLC, in rural Hilo, Hawaiʻi, established in August 2017. She received her bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA, and continued there for her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.  She started her career working in Oakland, CA, before relocating home to Hilo in 2010.  Over the last 15 years, Dr. Malia Tallett, PT, DPT, TPS, has built her practice to provide evidence-informed treatment interventions to Hilo’s rural community using cutting-edge, progressive approaches through individualized treatment plans.  She encourages Native Hawaiians to pursue physical therapy through her role as an adjunct professor in Hawaiʻi Pacific University’s DPT program in Honolulu, HI.  She is constantly working to develop her career as a healthcare provider, clinical educator, and through her community service.  Her community involvement in the healthcare and small business worlds has helped numerous Native Hawaiian families in more ways than one. She brings years of experience as a D1 competitive athlete, international athlete, and through many outdoor enthusiast endeavors.  She has a soft spot for youth athletic development, tactical athletes, and most importantly, Hilo’s growing kupuna population.
