In teaching I find an opportunity to both challenge and be challenged. I enjoy provoking thought in others and being made to consider ideas outside of my current beliefs. I find this process expedites my own learning.”
Bill has been a practicing clinician since 2001. He is currently a Clinical Fellow for a large healthcare system in the Minneapolis area. In addition to direct patient care, he is involved in work around process change/quality improvement, projects around mentoring/onboarding new clinicians, online/direct access to PT services, persistent pain and spine care. He has been a residency mentor for EIM hosted residents for 9 years and finds this provides a unique perspective through instructing online courses for EIM and guiding the implementation of that instruction with his residents. He serves as Adjunct Faculty and guest lecturer at the University of Minnesota’s Program in Physical Therapy and teaches courses in the Midwest related to clinical communication, patient education, neurodynamics and orthopedic PT. He believes our words and communication with patients are our most important skills and responsibility in clinical practice.
