Occupational Therapy
Dr. Nathan “Ben” Herz is the Accreditation manager for the EIM Occupational Therapy Program. Dr. Herz has held numerous positions in private practice and served on the faculty of institutions with respected occupational therapy programs. He has 41 Years in the field of Occupational Therapy. Before coming to EIM, he served as Associate Professor and Program Director at Presbyterian College, where he began an Occupational Doctorate Program. He has 22 Years’ experience as an Academic Program Director at 5 Institutions creating master’s and Doctoral programs. Dr. Herz has treated clients in the Movement Disorder Clinic at Augusta University where he has been a part-time researcher. He has devised unique therapeutic strategies for patients with Parkinson’s disease using the Wii and Wii Fit game systems. He has lectured widely on using virtual reality and gaming as a therapeutic intervention in rehabilitation. Herz is also recognized as an invited national speaker in the area of Parkinson’s disease and occupational therapy. He has extensive experience in orthopedic and industrial injuries as well. Herz is past treasurer for the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). He previously served that organization as research and educational liaison for the administration and management special interest section. Herz earned his Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and his Master of Business Administration from Averett University in Danville, Virginia
