This course is part of EIM’s Dry Needling Plus (DN+) Series

Pain, Neuroplasticity and Dry Needling is an intermediate-level course that explores the use of dry needling in central nociplastic pain presentations. The clinician will learn fundamental concepts of modern pain science and neuroplasticity, how to identify altered plasticity in the clinic, and standard interventions. The course will cover how dry needling can be used for sensory discrimination training, localization, and re-mapping of the brain. This is a self-paced, online course for the clinician who has foundational skills in dry needling and wants to learn how to use it effectively in patients with altered plasticity.

  • Discuss current paradigms in pain science and neuroplasticity
  • Identify signs and symptoms of altered plasticity
  • Administer clinical tests to identify altered plasticity
  • Describe appropriate interventions for patients with altered plasticity
  • Describe application of dry needling effectively for sensory discrimination training, localization, and remapping of the brain
