Prerequisite: Functional Dry Needling Level 1 or Equivalent

DN+ is an educational series powered by Evidence In Motion specifically for clinicians already trained in dry needling. The content is not intended as education on basic dry needling technique, but specific clinical applications for those who have already completed their introductory dry needling competency training. The courses look to answer the expert-level questions regarding clinical application for dry needling in the context of specific patient populations, various diagnoses, and advanced methodological application.

Course Objectives/Outcomes

By the end of the course, a successful learner will be able to:

  • Identify baseline features of rock climbing and associated terminology to facilitate clear expert communication with the patient.
  • Identify various injuries that are prevalent in climbing and unique to the climbing population.
  • Discuss the complex biomechanical and neuromuscular interactions that culminate in common climbing injuries.
  • Effectively implement DN into treatment planning for this distinct population.
  • Select the most effective muscle to treat based on a strong understanding of the specific etiologies of each unique climbing-related injury, leading to optimal outcomes.
  • Integrate central and peripheral dry needling techniques in treating these injuries.
