Join us for EIM’s 1st annual live-virtual one-day Elevate Pain Symposium where we will explore the hottest topics in emerging and established areas of Pain Science from leaders in the field.
This one-day, virtual symposium is designed to update clinicians on pain science as it pertains to common challenging clinical conditions. Chronic pain is complex and epidemiological data shows that approximately one in four people in the world suffer from some form of persistent pain on a regular basis. It is now well understood that complex underlying biological processes drive these pain experiences including increased sensitization of the peripheral and central nervous system, functional and structural changes in the brain, immune system changes, and more. Adding to the biological constructs of pain, psychosocial issues further challenges clinicians.
In this symposium, leading experts in pain science will explore underlying biological processes in complex pain cases, and then showcase how these changes impact the choice of examinations and treatments in clinical practice. Upon completion of the symposium clinicians will have a wide range of examination and treatment options to add to their current clinical repertoire to help patients with chronic pain experience less pain, less disability and improve quality of life. With the ever-increasing pain and opioid epidemic, clinicians must become aware of, and use, evidence-based, non-pharmacological strategies to help ease the burden of chronic pain.
