Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship

For: PT

The Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT) Fellowship Program is offered by Bellin College in collaboration with Evidence In Motion (EIM). Our Fellowship is the hallmark of the physical therapy profession in elevating clinical leadership. The OMPT Fellowship helps therapists gain the highest level of skill in the integration of advanced manual physical therapy techniques; educating students and fellow PTs; conducting clinic-based research; and successfully operating a PT business.

Contrary to common perception, the OMPT Fellowship program is flexible, achievable from a work/life balance perspective, and cost-effective. Past EIM students may have already completed significant coursework towards Fellowship. This feasible program can be paced to accommodate personal life. Data demonstrates that OMPT Fellows perform in the top 10% of the profession (based on FOTO scores).

Outcomes

A program of post-professional clinical and didactic education for physical therapists designed to graduate clinician scientists skilled in the evidence-based integration of thrust and non-thrust manipulation and other advanced manual therapy techniques. Fellowship graduates are primed for leadership in the teaching of orthopaedic manual physical therapy, as well as active participants and contributors to clinical research.

Ongoing clinical supervision, outcomes monitoring and mentoring with a theoretical basis for advanced practice and scientific inquiry in the area of orthopaedic manual physical therapy are paramount. Students integrate a solid clinical decision-making model, current best-evidence and best-practice, and superb patient handling skills into their clinical practice.
