Practice Leadership: Physical Therapy First and Early

October 30, 2018 • Practice Leadership • Larry Benz

This week, on the EIM Practice Leadership Podcast, Dr. Larry Benz discusses bet number two: The Pathway Model of Care. On the last episode of Practice Leadership, Larry started a series of episodes on the topic of “big bets.” These are bets that we need to make in physical therapy. Larry discussed these bets at the recent Ascend Conference, from WebPT, in Phoenix.

Last episode’s bet was on chronic pain. We’ll tie in this week’s bet, The Player’s Pathway and Proof Model of Care, into the last episode. What does this mean? Essentially: Physical Therapy first and early. Larry discusses that physical therapy should have a low co-pay and should be encouraged to be the first line of care, early on in the treatment. He’ll discuss more detail on this bet and how it impacts each of us.

As a reminder, the EIM Practice Leadership Podcast will be airing on Tuesdays, twice a month. The EIM Inside Leadership will air on the first Tuesday of every month and then we will continue with two more episodes of EIM Practice Leadership on the other Tuesdays of that month.

Thank you very much for listening! We’d love to hear your thoughts and comments on this week’s bet!
