Adam P. Ryan, MD, is a graduate of Michigan Technological University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. He then attended Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine and earn his MD degree. He chose to pursue a career as an Obstetrician Gynecologist and completed his residency at Akron General Medical Center finishing in June of 2002. He has spent the last 17 years living and working in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, specifically affiliated with Dickinson County Hospital in Iron Mountain, MI. There he has delivered ObGyn care to the community with a balanced practice involving both office and hospital-based care. He has a busy surgical practice, and he has had the honor of delivering thousands of babies.

Adam had the good fortune of meeting Jeff Moore in a trail running club and on those long runs many philosophies were discussed. This led to being a guest on Pain Reframed, and that podcast opened up a way of thinking about pain that has become a real passion. Through the Pain Reframed FB page, he met Liz Peppin and a friendship and a collaboration developed that brought him to the Align 2019 conference and completion of the TNE 6 week online course. Recently, he has joined Liz as an additional host on the Pain Reframed podcast. Adam is married to Kristy Ryan and they have six children, two boys and four girls spanning the ages of 22 and 9. Adam is an avid reader, loves to play tabletop games with fellow nerds, dabbles with guitar, has played ice hockey since he was 6 years old, and stays active enjoying all the beauty of the Upper Peninsula.
