What is the greatest risk that you will ever take?

 

Listening.

 

Listening has so many benefits from enjoying music, laughter, and birds chirping to discerning one’s perspective and meaning to being open to your own perspective and beliefs possibly changing. Listening can help us to save time and money. It can help us to learn and gain wisdom. It’s a powerful thing in so many ways.

 

No one person is truly excellent at listening. Some may be better than others, but let’s face it, it’s a challenge to really, truly stop talking and just listen intently and with focus.

 

Dr. Daphne Scott has some very important commentary on what listening is, why it’s so important, why we can be, at times, fairly bad at it, and what we can do to increase our listening mastery so that we can help us and help those around us.
