Burnout. Compassion fatigue. Overwhelm. Exhaustion.
Each of us faces these things at one time or another. It may even be a fear for some of us that we’re, eventually, going to hit burnout and there’s nothing we can do about it.
But that’s not true, there are some very important things we can and should do to avoid burnout and maintain our level of passion and excellence in our work and even in our personal lives. There are four critical things to implement:
- Self-care
- Don’t go it alone
- Lessen your burdens by creating less of them
- Make requests and ask for help when you need it
Dr. Daphne Scott will discuss each of these four tips with specific examples to help you to avoid burnout and, eventually, just relax. We can have our “tanks” filled. We will have the passion, energy, and desire to do what we, originally, set out to do in the first place.

Daphne - Love the show! Thanks so much for putting the content out there and providing the perspective. You had mentioned a Mindfulness Teacher Program that you have been chilsing away at... I was curious if you knew of any programs, certs, or books that might be slightly less time intensive and a good place to start with the mindfulness training as it might relate to clinical practice.
