EIM Inside Leadership Podcast: A Great PT Doesn’t Make A Great Leader

This week, on the EIM Inside Leadership Podcast with Dr. Daphne Scott, we are making the statement that a great physical therapist does not necessarily make a great leader. It makes sense, but it’s such an important factor to consider, especially if you ever move into a position where you are responsible for other people’s work.

The jump from individual contributor to leading is the biggest anyone will make in their career. It’s also true that almost no one comes into leadership with the key skills they need to be effective in their role.

Daphne shares some specific tips to help you move forward in your leadership role (now or eventually). One HUGE thing you can do immediately is to start a book club! Find excellent, healthy, realistic books that can help you to grow in your path as a leader and invite others, who share the same goal, to join your book club so you can read and discuss the book and grow together as leaders.
