This course will improve the participant’s knowledge and clinical application of electrical stimulation to improve strength, function, and fitness in people with neurological dysfunction. Participants will discuss precautions and contraindications for the use of electrical stimulation, learn the difference between direct vs. therapeutic benefits of functional electrical stimulation, and describe the potential for health and fitness benefits and parameters to achieve desired muscle response. Students will learn how to conduct interventions with electrical stimulation based upon examination findings and patient goals.
