Ankle Sprains and Dry Needling is a part of Dry Needling Plus, powered by Evidence In Motion and iDryNeedle. These advanced courses take you beyond foundational skills to master dry needling in your specialty.

Course Description

Ankle Sprains and Dry Needling is an online course that provides both theoretical and tactical methodology for strategic application of dry needling with ankle sprain rehab.

The course will review:

  • relevant anatomy and function
  • injury pathomechanism
  • phase-by-phase treatment rationale for acute, sub-acute, function, and return-to-sport stages of rehab
  • other treatment strategies to implement with dry needling.

Online lecture, video demonstrations, clinical commentary, quizzes and supporting research are included to reinforce learning and rationale for treatment strategies relating to ankle sprain management.

Prerequisite: Functional Dry Needling Level 1 or equivalent


  • Examine ankle sprain pathomechanism, incidence, contributing factors and soft tissue involved
  • Consider impact on neurologic structures involved with ankle sprain injury
  • Examine dry needling strategies for targeted rehab goals of the acute, sub-acute, remodeling, functional, and return-to-sport rehab phases post-ankle sprain
