A fierce commitment to patient success and evidence-based
clinical excellence is a powerful antidote to competition.
Is your practice prepared?
Do
you know the difference between evidence-based practice (EBP) and
simply trying out the recommendations of the latest article you've
read? Do you
know how to format a clincally relevant question and get the answer
in seconds? Do you
have pre-processed evidence for your most common diagnoses? Is
that pre-processed evidence updated as research emerges? Are you
relying on experience instead of expertise? Do your
referral sources understand EBP and why its use results in improved
outcomes and lower healthcare costs? When a
payor asks you to justify your treatments, can you cite the specific
supporting literature? Can you
measure the results of your expenditures on continuing education
for you and your staff? Are you getting your money's worth?
Who is Evidence
in Motion? Click here to read more about us, but Evidence in Motion is led by a group of innovative leaders well known for their contributions to physical therapy education, research, and practice. Our mission is to partner with and equip individual practitioners and physical therapy practices with premiere resources and training necessary for becoming leaders in evidence-based practice. We are NOT ‘ivory tower academics’ but are ourselves actively involved in numerous small and large multi-site clinics across the country. In this role, we readily understand the competitive edge that EBP integration can offer your practice. In fact, we developed all of our EBP consultation resources specifically for own purposes. As new resources are added to the consultation inventory and old resources are updated, you can be certain that we have incubated the ideas and field tested every one of them in our practice settings and continue to use them very day. We don’t sell anything that we don’t find invaluable ourselves, plain and simple! We are confident that these resources can similarly help your practice integrate EBP into your day-to-day clinical and marketing operations.
Evidence in Motion Can Get You Ready!
How? We offer a turnkey consultation package and marketing system designed
to help you integrate EBP into your own organization quickly and
efficiently.
Why is EBP the future not

What is translational education?
We offer just-in-time education that reflects contemporary practice.
We work to enhance the likelihood that you will be able to immediately
translate what you learn into the care of your patients. If
high quality evidence has been published the week prior to a course
and has significant implications for physical therapy decision-making,
the course will be updated to reflect this new evidence.
Evidence In Motion EBP Physical Therapy Consulting Service Components
EBP Tune-Up and Overview - A one hour presentation of EBP, by one of the Evidence in Motion authors. EBP results in more standardized care that translates into fewer visits, lower costs, and improved outcomes. It includes:
EBP overview Definitions Why the Need Why the Emphasis How EIM's pre processed evidence can be easily implemented
Nuts and Bolts Component - A hands-on, online course which summarizes evidence used in the treatment of conditions commonly encountered in physical therapy practice, while outlining the deficiencies present in current therapies. This online course can be completed before or after the Tune-Up and Overview, and requires each therapist to pass quizzes and critically appraise and grade selected literature using a hierarchy of evidence. This course and it’s related exercises help facilitate the integration of evidence-based practice into your clinic(s) and guarantee you will have the ability to be an EBP "user".
Pre-Processed Evidence - Prominently brand your practice an EBP provider of care. We will provide your organization with a license to use our pre-processed evidence summaries customized with your own practice's logo. These pre-processed evidence summaries are presented in the format of Problem, Intervention, Evidence, and Referral, commonly referred to as "PIERs". The PIERs are paired with other materials (automated ppt tutorials, newsletters, articles and branded criteria-based referral script pads) focused on marketing and education that can be used as stand alone products or in combination with the PIERs. The criteria-based referral guide is a one-page, highly condensed and bulleted information sheet that is linked to the script pad and answers frequently asked questions posed by your primary care referral sources, like “Who should I send to physical therapy?”, “What interventions are most effective?”
Marketing - We will provide you with instantly deployable "how to" tools for marketing the EBP concept to your referral sources, patients, and third-party payors. In addition, you will be equipped with proven, effective, strategies on how to market EBP to insurance companies, referral sources, and just as importantly consumers .... aka your patients! This includes frequently asked questions, a glossary, newsletters, published literature, hyperlinked interactive powerpoint presentations, and presentation approaches. Our clients also have exclusive access for purchasing branded direct mail marketing pieces for individual PIERs that have been professionally developed by Fire and Rain® exclusively for EIM
Consultation Visits & Seminars- One on-site or web-based seminar will be provided by an Evidence in Motion author to your staff on EBP and integration into physical therapy practice. A recent systematic review found that education is the most effective strategy to increase referrals to your practice.1 A second seminar, also provided by an Evidence in Motion author, will provide you and your referral sources, payors, case managers, nurses, etc. with evidence-based reviews summarizing which patients benefit from physical therapy referral and what distinguishes your practice as evidence-based. Specific EBP related business and marketing related issues will also be presented.
Leveraged Technology – Flash drive storage of branded PIER material for distribution, Articulated® PIER presentations by EIM authors, E-Orthopod feeds and on-line meeting room opportunities minimize the burden of implementing EBP while maximizing your sphere of influence.
Other benefits: As an Evidence in Motion Consulting Service client, you will receive discount pricing on our hands-on continuing education courses and be eligible to subscribe to our branded evidence e-mail feeds to your referral sources (Evidence ExpessTM) Perhaps most importantly, you have continued access to EIM executives and staff who are internationally recognized as leaders in EBP just to name a few
Licensing: Upon completion (includes full or partial credentialing based on training components completed) of the Evidence In Motion Consulting Service, your practice can attain formal recognition as a Certified EIM Provider. This affirms that your practice has undergone the didactic and psychomotor training required to provide evidence-based interventions for selected high volume conditions.
The Benefit Increased credibility and negotiating power with payors Enhanced relationships with referral sources Consistency in patient care Increased referrals
The importance of EBP is immeasurable and will be evident in the immediate increased value to your practice through improved outcomes of care and increased stature in your community for excellence in physical therapy practice.
