"Author in the Room" utilizes our online web meeting platform that allows us to conduct live online events with participants from all over the world. Think of this feature as a journal club in overdrive. Unlike most traditional journals clubs (which are largely worthless in terms of changing behavior to reflect current best evidence), you will have the opportunity to hear and dialogue with experienced investigators and authors of recently published research papers that have significant implications for clinical practice. Authors will present a brief summary of the study's findings and then entertain questions from the online audience, engaging them in a lively discussion of the study's clinical implications and areas of future research. The focus will be simple.what does this study suggest I should do differently in my clinical practice tomorrow? It's not about becoming smarter. It's about translating evidence into practice! We will also use this forum to host presentations from key leaders within the physical therapy profession on a variety of interesting topics related to contemporary evidence-based physical therapy practice. Because our online meeting platform is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we will be able to accommodate a variety of schedule and time zone preferences for participants all over the world. Unable to attend live? No problem at all. All sessions are recorded. Your registration will allow you to download and view the recorded session at your own convenience. The schedule will be posted several weeks in advance. Interested participants will be able to register on-line, and CEUs will be awarded when applicable.
